How the conversion works
Every country numbers shoes and clothes on its own scale, so there is no exact formula between them. This converter uses the common conversion charts that shops and sports brands publish (compiled in October 2026). Japan labels shoes by foot length in centimetres, which makes that column the most reliable one: measure your foot and compare.

Tips for buying from another country
- Measure your foot from heel to longest toe and look that number up in the Japan (cm) column.
- In this chart a women's US size is one higher than a men's for the same foot: 25 cm is a women's US 8 and a men's US 7.
- European brands often run small and American brands large, but it varies from brand to brand.
- Men's EU trouser sizes and Japanese men's top sizes vary the most between brands.

No. There is no official cross-country standard and brands differ, so treat them as approximate and check the brand's own chart in cm before you buy.
