How it works
Each image is decoded by your browser and saved again as PNG, a lossless format. That's useful when you'll keep editing the image, or when a form or app only accepts PNG. PNG files of photos are usually two to five times larger than the JPG they came from.

Frequently asked questions
Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG is lossless, so nothing more is lost, but detail that JPG compression already removed can't come back. Expect a larger file.
Will the background become transparent?
No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG keeps the same background. You'd need a background remover to cut it out.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your photos never leave your device. You can even go offline after the page loads.
