How it works
PNG stores every pixel exactly, which makes photos and big screenshots heavy. JPG throws away detail the eye barely notices, so the same image is often several times smaller. Move the quality slider and the sizes update live, so you can find the smallest file that still looks right.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent parts become white.
Which quality should I choose?
80–92 looks the same as the original to most people and cuts the size a lot. Go lower only if you need very small files.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your photos never leave your device. You can even go offline after the page loads.
