How the score is calculated
The calculator removes spaces, ignores upper and lower case and puts the two names in alphabetical order, so “Ana + Leo” and “leo + ana” are the same pair. It then runs the letters through a hash formula (FNV-1a) that turns them into a number from 0 to 100.
Because the formula is fixed, the result never changes for the same two names. A tiny change, like a nickname or a missing letter, can give a completely different score, which is half the fun.
Just a game
Name tests have been a schoolyard tradition for a long time, from counting the letters of “LOVES” to FLAMES. None of them can measure real compatibility, and neither can this one.
