Frequently asked questions
Why does my webcam show a black screen?
Usually another app (Zoom, Teams, OBS) is using the camera, a privacy shutter is closed, or the camera is switched off with a function key. Close other apps, check the shutter and try again.
Why is my webcam frame rate low?
In dim light many webcams lengthen the exposure, which drops the frame rate to 15 fps or lower. More light in front of you usually fixes it.
Do other people see me mirrored?
No. Most video apps show you a mirrored preview, but send the normal, unmirrored image to others. Untick “Mirror image” to see what they see.
