Static codes: free forever
Many QR sites make “dynamic” codes that send people through their own short link, so they can count scans, and then switch the code off when a free trial ends. The codes made here are static: the link or text is written into the pattern itself. They work offline, never expire and don't tell anyone who scanned them.
Printing tips
Keep a quiet zone (the white border) around the code, use a dark code on a light background, and test the printed code with a couple of phones before ordering a big print run. A common rule of thumb is that a code can be scanned from about ten times its width, so a 3 cm code reads well from roughly 30 cm.
Error correction levels
| Level | Can recover | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| L | about 7% | Screens, clean prints, most data |
| M | about 15% | Everyday use (default) |
| Q | about 25% | Outdoor signs, stickers |
| H | about 30% | Rough surfaces, codes that may get scratched |
How much fits in one QR code
| Content | Maximum (level L) |
|---|---|
| Digits only | 7,089 |
| Uppercase letters and digits | 4,296 |
| Any text (bytes, UTF-8) | 2,953 |
Accented letters take 2 bytes and most Asian characters and emoji 3–4 bytes, so they fill a code faster. Shorter content makes a simpler, easier-to-scan code.

Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored inside the code itself (a static QR code), so it keeps working as long as the link or text it contains is valid. Nothing depends on this website.
Can I change the link after printing?
Not with a static code. Some services offer “dynamic” codes that point to a redirect they control, but those stop working if the subscription ends.
Can I use the QR codes commercially?
Yes. The codes you create are yours to use on menus, flyers, packaging or business cards.
PNG or SVG?
PNG is fine for screens and documents. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which is best for print.
